Trending: The Bomber

This season is definitely bomber season. Editors continue to love the trend. If you don’t own a bomber yet…you need to buy one. If you already have one…you need to buy another one! This trend is here to stay.

Bombers are the ultimate style saviour! They are great for this transitional weather too. Throw on with Skinnies for relaxed weekend chic or team with a body con dress to add some sass to your outfit.

With the addition of a bomber, your outfit will elevate to that of being aspirational! #Goals

 

Silk bombers are by far my favourite bomber trend, it mixes both boudoir and baseball all in one. If you are going to opt for a silk bomber, a dusky pink one is definitely the way to go. This bomber is the perfect shade and would work well with white skinnies, nude heels and nude coloured lips.

Embroidered bombers infuse oriental intricacy.  Designers such as Gucci and Saint Laurent embraced the Japanese inspired theme. This pattern works with almost anything. The detailing of this bomber works especially well with a white Tee and blue skinnies for a relaxed luxe vibe.

The classic bomber is a wardrobe stable. This addition will make off duty dressing a breeze! A contemporary streetwear classic that celebrities such as GiGi Hadid continue to model.

Desk To Dinner

Make your transition from desk to dinner effortlessly sublime. Whether its cocktails with the girls or a dinner date, I have compiled a look which I believe is extremely versatile! Taking you from your 9-5, into the late evening.

Just Swap Your Accessories

Accessories are heaven sent! A killer pair of heels, a gorgeous clutch and some statement jewellery are all things that you can keep in your drawer. A strong dark lip will have you ooze into the starry night. I have so many gorgeous heels but I always reach for these white heels from Zara. Its all in the details, the chrome finish on the tip of the heel allows me to incorporate my chrome jewellery. My clutch is from French Connection and is the perfect size for my phone, my purse and my lipstick of course! The white and red mesh clutch actually inspired me to create this entire outfit.

White On White

The stunning recent weather has given me the perfect opportunity to showcase white on white. White is such a simple, subtle yet powerful colour and works so harmoniously with a range of colours and tones. My white jeans are from Zara and my white blazer is from Mango. I always find white on white exudes classiness. Be it cocktails or a date, you can rest assured white will have you looking confident and classy!

Bold Colours

Keeping a bold colour central to the outfit allows you to mix and match your attire. My top is from Zara and again the neck detailing is what drew me to buy it!  A central bold colour can help you to bring in accessories that will complement the colour too. Elegant cuts and formal finishings will mean that struggling to find an outfit to wear to work and dinner will no longer be the case.

So ladies, its time to say YES to cocktails with the girls and YES to a date with your latest tinder match! Put those drawers under your desk to good use and stack them with ready to wear accessories.

Kylie Jenner $tyle $teals

Kylie Jenner has effortlessly cool style. Inspired by her style and dominant 2016 trends, I have found some dupes in order to recreate her edgy look from www.misstempted.co.uk.

Kylie is a huge fan of the colour Khaki and boy does she love a bomber jacket. This dupe bomber jacket is almost identical and even has the coral lining! Kylie tends to throw this jacket with a multitude of looks – from a tight bodycon dress and boots, to a more relaxed ripped jeans and heels vibe. That is why it is so versatile because the colour Khaki goes with everything. The bomber jacket has been a 2016 trend, for that on-the-go military/off duty look. A definite must have because of its versatility and a style steal!

Ripped skinny jeans are an essential, for a Kylie Jenner look – she incorporates them into the majority of her looks. These jeans are an amazing fit and If you are a fan of super super skinny jeans – these are a must have. Black ripped jeans incorporate well with that ‘off duty’ day look but can also be teamed with a glam top to take you into an evening vibe.

The lace up front top is an additional dominant 2016 trend and one of my favourites! The stitched up look was among countless catwalks in Spring 2015 including Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Givenchy. Kylie wears the lace up trend in both tops and dresses and this dupe will be sure to give you her style (at at a steal).

This jewellery is the cherry on top to finish off your look. I cannot express how obsessed I am with this ring and bangle. Step into the wild with this incrusted tiger ring, it oozes ferocity. The ring is also adjustable to fit even the smallest fingers.

Valentines Inspired Beauty

Don’t wait to be treated, treat yourself this Valentines Day with some beauty must haves. Sticking with the romantic theme, these beauty products are definitely ones to add to your collection.

Firstly, the NYX soft matte lip creams are essential to your make up bag. The shades (left to right) are: Tokyo, San Paulo and Beunos Aires. San Paulo is absolutely my favourite and these lip creams last really well. Simply apply clear gloss or vaseline if you aren’t a fan of the matte lip. These shades are also great to mix for a subtle obré look.

The eyeshadow quad is by Kleancolor. I first came across the brand whilst in Barbados, a few girls there recommended it to me and I totally understand why they are hooked. The shadows are so pigmented! Dont be afraid to blend some shades of pink into your eyeshadow, when blended it can look really pretty.

This perfume is by Kim Kardashian, its called Glam (partly why I love it) and is a perfect blend of musk and florals so fits the romantic inspired beauty theme well.

My ring is by Pandora and I am O B S E S S ED with it. It is so dainty and subtle yet really catches the light. Its a heart shape so its super cute.

My make up bag is by Ted Baker and is the perfect size for on the go. Its a lovely dusky pink with a rose gold zip so I love the combo.

Live On Air Talking Annieshahblog

Last weekend I had the most incredible opportunity being live on air talking all things annieshahblog! I had so much fun with the fantastic radio presenter Stephen Whitton.

Being live on air was certainly an experience, the studio had to be completely silent as the mic’s pick up on every little sound. Hearing my voice during the mic testing was soo weird. I thought “gosh is that what I sound like”! It definitely took some time getting used to!

I have to admit, at the very beginning I was so nervous! Being live I had to ensure I made zero mistakes. The first 10 minutes of the hour slot I was conscious of what I was saying but as the radio show went on, my nerves completed eased and I cannot express how much fun I had!

Minimalistic Chic In Marrakech

I adore the all white look; the simplicity of chiffon and the excess of draping material gave this look, a very elegant feel. Inspired by Victoria Beckham and her minimalistic chic style, I teamed this long line white chiffon dress with white heels. Both are from Zara and worked effortlessly well together. The gold on the heel worked well with my simple gold jewellery. My bracelets are from Next and my necklace is from Miss Selfridge.During my time in Marrakech I wanted a look, which would not only compliment the heat but also, incorporate some of the traditional look of Moroccan gold jewellery – this look did both!This dress could easily be teamed with skinny white jeans to continue the theme or black skinnies perhaps for the evening. I wore a simple black bodycon dress underneath but this white dress worked efficiently as a bikini cover up by the pool too! There are endless ways to wear this dress and that is why I love ZARA!The only advice I would give to anyone braving an all white look – stay clear of coloured drinks- that will be a tall skinny glass of iced water for me please!

The Kylie Jenner Lip Combo

If you haven’t heard about Kylie Jenner’s lips, well… where have you been? Her lips have been the talk of the nation ever since the Kardashian half sister, had her lips plumped.

Despite the stir, her lips always look amazing and she recently launched her Kylie Lip Kit. In honour of her launch, I was inspired to recreate her lip look and believe I have found the products that can do exactly that!

Large, plump lips ensure your pout is ‘selfie ready’. If you would like your lips to look bigger, you can over-line them very slightly to give your lips a fuller look. Additionally, you can ombré your lips, which give them a more plumped look. To ombré your lips, means to use a lighter colour in the centre of both lips, with a darker shade on the outer corners and blend the two together. The key to this being successful is to find shades that are almost identical but just a shade or two lighter/darker.

The lipsticks that will have even Kylie Jenner jealous of your pout are by Helen E Cosmetics. I loved the shades ‘Raspberry’ and ‘Dusk.’ The Kiko ‘Automatic Precision’ lip liner in 508 works perfectly to give lips (the top lip especially) a defined look. This lip combo is everything! Give these products a try, to recreate that Jenner Pout, and be sure to take some selfies!

Hats Off To You….

Autumn/Winter is the best hat season. There is something about a hat that just finishes off a look; a tailored addition to any outfit will automatically catch the attention of others.

I personally love hats, although some may perceive them to be ‘over the top’, I say ‘so what’! Hats make an outfit that much classier and will definitely have heads turning.

I have been searching for a deep red hat for some time now and found this magnificent timeless piece in TK Maxx! To find a timeless classic in a discounted retailer, I believe, deserves a congratulations. There is something about finding a gem that makes shopping all the more exciting! This colour is perfect for the Autumn/Winter transition and can be teamed with red lips! A great item to help get into the Christmas spirit (not that I need any help, I love Christmas).

If red is too bold for you, why not try Khaki or Camel hats. They are just as versatile and are also very on trend. The hat featured below is from H&M (Coachella Range) and is an alternative to a tailored structured hat. The hat has a more casual vibe with the floppy sides.

So ladies, if you are having a bad hair day, or want to have heads turning, hats are the way to go. If you are daring enough to wear hats, well… I take my hat off to you!

The Chanel Mademoiselle Privé Exhibition

Chanel to me, is symbolic of elegance, simplicity and demure. Upon hearing that the Saatchi Gallery (King’s Road, Chelsea, London) was hosting an exhibition highlighting the journey of the creation of Chanel through the eyes of both Mademoiselle Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld, I quite literally jumped at the opportunity to view such an exquisite spectacle.

It really is hard to put down in words how incredible the exhibition was, from the visuals, to the sounds and the imminent buzz in the atmosphere, but I shall write for those who did not get an opportunity to visit the exhibition.

Upon entering, visitors were advised to download the Mademoiselle Privé app to their smartphone or android, to gain from the digital experience. This app unlocked more of the exhibition than I had anticipated. The images below will help to display this visually. For example, to the naked eye, in front of me was a door. However, with the use of the app, the door opened and inside was Gabrielle Chanel herself, stitching away.

Each room of the exhibition was dedicated to a specific thing, one being perfumery, thus symbolising the significance of Chanel No.5, another looking at the Haute Couture, embodying the spirit of Chanel as well as a room dedicated to the Jewellery and the outdoors. The Jardin à la francaise, an 18^th century garden was presented as an inspiration to the intertwined C motif that Gabrielle Chanel first saw in the stained glass windows at the orphanage, where she lived as a child.

The pieces displayed in the exhibition optimised everything great about Chanel. It is important to remember how modern Chanel herself was for her time. A lady of courage: she broke boundaries; she channelled trousers during a time in which women were draped from head to toe in lace gowns. She very famously quoted “simplicity is the keynote of all elegance” and advocated through her designs that silhouette and structure should be the focus of clothing. Growing up in a convent, a lot of her inspiration came from the clothing of the nuns, picking up on the colour black she so famously designed the LBD (little black dress). In amongst women dressed in white and pink, she did not care of the opinion of others – something that makes her extremely admirable.

Overall, I was overwhelmed and amazed by the exhibition. The admission was free and all visitors were gifted with a poster and a canvas bag. It was both inspiring and educational. I will always be a fan of Gabrielle Chanel; she is the embodiment of class and drive. I also resonate with the fact that her star sign is a Leo, just like me!

The Coral Comeback

Coral has been trending this autumn with luxury labels, such as, Hugo Boss. It is an extremely versatile colour as it suits all skin tones, especially deeper skin tones. As can be seen from the photo below, taken from the Hugo Boss Autumn/Winter Catwalk 2015/16, coral should never be the colour of your entire outfit. This is because small, sharp bursts of the colour help to capture the vibrancy amongst light layering. This month is totally about ‘light layering’, save the faux fur for November and December.

As mentioned in my previous post, I very rarely stray away from all black so can we please appreciate the amount of colour in this blog post. My coral trousers are from #Zara and can be teamed with both heels and flats. They are very structured so work well combined with looser flowing style tops and jackets. My heels are also from #Zara and although they look beautiful, hobbling over the cobbled streets of an old town in Brussels, did provide an adventurous task in itself! My shirt is from #NewLook and is perfect for that smart-casual look I adore!
